- In Soil: If grown in soil, water it when the top inch of the soil feels dry. Ensure that the pot has drainage holes to prevent overwatering and root rot.
- Light:
- Lucky Bamboo can tolerate low light conditions, but it prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as this can scorch the leaves.
- Temperature:
- Keep Lucky Bamboo in a relatively stable temperature environment. It prefers temperatures between 65°F to 90°F (18°C to 32°C).
- Fertilizing:
- Lucky Bamboo is not a heavy feeder. If you’re growing it in water, you can add a small amount of liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. If it’s in soil, use a balanced liquid fertilizer at half the recommended strength every 6-8 weeks.
- Container and Support:
- Ensure that the container or vase holding the Lucky Bamboo has enough stability to support the height of the stems. If using decorative stones or pebbles to anchor the plant, make sure they are clean and free of contaminants.
- Cleaning:
- Wipe the leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust. Keeping the leaves clean helps the plant photosynthesize more efficiently.
- Pruning:
- Lucky Bamboo generally doesn’t require much pruning. Trim yellow or damaged leaves at the base using clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears.
- Propagation:
- If you want to propagate Lucky Bamboo, you can cut a healthy stem and place it in water or soil. Make sure each cutting has at least one node.
